心血管工程
心血管工程: IFC罗马分局的科学活动在博洛尼亚的国家心血管研究学院(INRC),心血管,呼吸科学,肾脏学,麻醉学及老年病学系(工艺大学Umberto I, 罗马Sapienza大学) 及德国RWTH Aachen 大学生理医学系学院的体外循环研究实验室 (ECCLab) 的科技合作范围内发展。 活动分成以下研究路线: - 心血管数字/混合建模实验室:发展心血管及呼吸系统的数字及混合模拟程序, 包括研发管理协议来处理脉动流及连续流心辅助装置 VADs ,及研发机械呼吸辅助装置。
- 远程心脏学: 对学生的试验研究,有关预防心源性猝死 (Sudden Cardiac Death), 研发能够从监听站实时收到及发回给监听站一定数量的参据的可佩戴装置 。研究数值模型来预测(从非侵入性量测的参据开始)某些只可以侵入性量测的心血管参据的趋向,研发数值模型来分析用来使心脏梗塞组织再生的间充质干细胞的增生。
医学电子学习及模拟系统:使用模拟病人来训练生物工程学生,临床工程学生,医学学生,以及医务工作人员及辅助医务人员 (心脏学家,心脏手术师,家庭医生,麻醉师,持证医务技术人员 (心脏手术中负责输氧及控制机器的人员),看护,等等),也用于他们教育课程(甚至是远程的)。

流行病学
流行病学: 罗马的流行病学部门,与IFC在雷焦卡拉布利亚的二级分局,在血液病学及肾脏病学范围内,共同实行及分析临床研究,也与其它CNR学院合作。
- 协调糖尿病模型的发展及分析,以便能及早诊断病症及预测并发症。
与CNR 的单一保证中心共同进行引导两性关系的模式化形象的研究,
在社会环境中,研究人员是各部门间及各学院间的工作组组员,为罗马首都市民发展新的社会策划,共同合作来认别某些有用的社会卫生指标,有用于社会策划的拟定。

罗马
The Section of Rome of IFC-CNR was created in 2003 with the merging of the group of Epidemiology and of the Group of cardiovascular engineering coming form the former Institute of Biomedical Technologies. In the following years, the group maintained their Research profile even if it was progressively modified and developed on the base of the needs of IFC and to improve the integration with going on researches, especially in the case of cardiovascular engineering group coming from a different Institute. In this framework the sinergies between the two groups and mainly with the Headquarter of Pisa were of the utmost importance.
